Featured Artist - Rebecca Sinz, Milos view

This week is "Featured Artist - Rebecca Sinz".
I made a card with "To Bid You Farewell".

Big hugs from Milo

Conie Fong Card

Hello Everyone,

Olivia here with another fabulous image that is just perfect for these spring days. I just love having the sun out and see all the beautiful flowers and butterflies.

I used some Graphic 45 Paper I had left in my stash.  This stamp image is called Buttercup by Conie Fong.  I colored the image with my Copics and this is as good as I get with a "pastel" like feel because I am more of a bright and bold girl but trying to do some new things.

Hope you all get a chance to enjoy this beautiful weather.

Featured Artist - Rebecca Sinz Glimmer of Hope

Aren't you loving all the images featuring artist Rebecca Sinz this week?  The card I am sharing today is using Glimmer of Hope which is currently available in both Rubber and Digital format.  Be sure and check out the artist's original coloring so you can see how different my coloring looks.

Here's a close up of the stamp itself. I colored it using copic markers and framed it using a wonderful diecut from Spellbinders in a metallic blue paper from DCWV.
I finished the card with a gorgeous sequined lace in black topped off with a Turkish lace on the bottom followed with some lace butterflies.  I hope this card inspires you with a glimmer of hope today.  Be sure and check out all of this artist's gorgeous stamps.  She does the most awesome lady images and many ladies with gorgeous animals and flowers.

Cheers, Holley

Featured Artist Week - Rebecca Sinz Wither

Rebecca Sinz makes pictures that very much speaks to me. They're so full of emotion and very very versatile. I chose Wither for this weeks Featured Artist. It's this beautiful dark angel with a withering rose. But the beauty of coloring your own images, is you can totally change it, just by adding different colors. So I went for a more spring like feel with my card.

As always I used my beloved Copics to color her. These are the ones I used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E13
Wings: G43, G40, G20, YG0000, C00, BV0000, BV000
Hair: E50, E23, E25, E27
Dress: V20, V22, V25, V28
Leaves: YG61, YG63, YG67
Red: R14, R24, R59
Background: C00, B60

And I just couldn't help it. It's another easel card :) But I really think the beautiful image deserves that extra attention it gets, from the easel fold.

To make it even more spring like, I cut out vines using my Silhouette Cameo, and added som white and purple flowers. With a few doilies, some lace and a pearl-string-thread, I thought the card was pretty much finished.

This image can be found in the Sweet Pea Stamp store as a digi and rubber stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Artist of the Week with Rebecca Sinz: Aletha’s View

This week is one of the most fun for me at Sweet Pea Stamps. We get to pick out our favorite image from a particular artist. This “Artist of the Week” is Rebecca Sinz, and the image that I chose is Deadly Night Shade. You can shop for the rubber stamp or the digital image. Sweet Pea Stamps has whichever format you want to create with.

I went to the dark side with Deadly Night Shade. I created a very simple mixed-media piece. I colored Deadly Night Shade with Copics and trimmed the image. Then I layered that image on two colors of purple cardstock and trimmed the edges with black lace.

My substrate is a 5” x 7” canvas board. I scrunched up some dark purple tissue paper and adhered the tissue to the canvas with DecoArt’s Decou-page. The final touches were some metal corners.

There is still some time to join our Once Sweet Challenge for May. Our theme is “flowers.” We also have a bi-weekly contest on our Facebook group. This contest that started on May 19 is our art contest. It is always anything goes, and you must use a Sweet Pea image.

Thanks for stopping by!

Featured Artist with Jane

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  This week is Featured Artist week.  The whole DT are creating with images by Rebecca Sinz and I have chosen to use the fabulous digi Gardenia.
To begin making this card I first designed and die cut the font panel.
Next I coloured some lace with my Promarker.
The lace was attached to the back of the die cut lattice front and also the inside of the card as part of this will be visible in the end design.
Liquid Pearls which I applied on each of the cross sections of the lattice.
While the Liquid Pearls were drying I colour the digi with Promarkers
I then mounted the digi onto Mulberry paper which I had used the water method to created a frayed edge.
Now onto the flowers - grrrrrr - what grief.  I wanted white flowers so first tried with copy paper but that looked flat, then tried with hand made paper, that looked great but not white enough.  Time to put the thinking cap on - ah!! white Mulberry paper.  Perfect colour and so delicate in appearance but with this fine paper pretty fiddly to do.  I used Spellbinders Bitty-Blossoms-6.
Next I used Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels-20 for the inside of the card.  This was edged with Derwent Blendable crayons and Promarker.
I assembled all sections of the card and added some luscious green leaves to accompany the hand made gardenia.  Here we have a view showing the inside of the card
and here is the front of the card showing how the lattice panel is held in a curved way, locked in place by the gardenia and leaves at the side.
Thank you for stopping by :)

Ingredients
  • Digi -  Gardenia by Rebecca Sinz available from  Sweet Pea Stamps
  • Die - Spellbinders Bitty-Blossoms-6
  • Promarkers
  • Liquid Pearls
  • Lace, mulberry paper, leaves and gold peel off line stickers from my stash
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day :) :)

Tera's 'My Deep Love' by Norma Burnell

 Hallo,
My project for today is an altered sketch journal.
I am really loving the Fairy Tangles images from Norma Burnell and today I used 'My Deep Love' - She is available both as a digi and in rubber form.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and blended the background a bit with OMS (odorless mineral spirits).
I cut her out with a Spellbinders die and layered her to some pretty handmade paper from my stash and layered that to the cover of a sketch journal.
Then I went a bit wild with the beads :) - I used blue and turquoise seed beads to outline the main image and some of the swirls on the paper.
I edged the cover with gold metallic pen and then I used a salmon colored viva décor pearl pen to make the pearls - they matchy matchy the ones in her hair perfectly :) The ones in her hair are just colored in and then I added some stickles glitter to them and the seashell.
All for today - back to the craft room for me :) - happiness!!

Tera's - 'Aloha' babygift set

 Hallo,
Tera here with a Mermaid baby gift set to show you today. I covered a sturdy box with pretty papers and ribbon and added a beautiful image from Ching Chou Kuik called 'Aloha' to the box, memory book and to the card - all of them made to match.
The image is available both as a Rubber stamp and a digi.
I colored her 3 times - all matching - with prismacolor pencils. The memory book measures 6 by 6 inches and fits just nicely inside the box - its covered in matching papers and ready to just add photos.
All for me today - Take Care

Pastel Goth

Do you ever have one of those images that just makes you go, "EEK, I GOTTA have that image!"  This was one of those images for me.  I don't know why, because I never was a Goth girl as a kid but maybe my spirit was, lol.  This cutie comes from Sweet Pea Stamps artist Zoimar Lezama and she's called Pastel Goth.  Be sure and check out her coloring on this stamp because I love it.
I added a steampunk embossed background as well as some diecut hearts to go with her.  I can think so many fun color combos for this stamp.

I gave her the lightest grey eyes. I guess I just love that color on eyes because it reminds me of my hubby.  I also have to say I totally adore that she has a cherry tattoo (which I totally imagine to be a fake) and a backpack.  Ahh, cute kids.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Arrival of a new phone cover

Inspired by Olivias beautiful phone case, I decided to make my own as well. In the video I claim I used a Ching Chou Kuik image. That is not true. It is, in fact, Arrival of Spring by Conie Fong. I just love that image, cause it's so versatile. Would be beautiful in pastels, but this time I decided to use lots of warm reds and yellows. In the video below I go through how I made my phone cover.

I've been using my phone quite a lot, and it's really holding up quite well. I think the key to make it work, is to make sure everything has a good layer of a strong medium, like Mod Podge or Golden's Gel mediums.

Unfortunately I've lost the post-it note that said which Copics I used to color her in. I love the glitter I added. Since I used only a semi-gloss medium to cover up everything in the end, the glitter lost a little of its sparkle. But it's sealed in so well, and none of it rubs off.

The Arrival of spring stamp is available in the Sweet Pea Stamp store as digi and rubber image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today

Serenity by Concetta Kilmer - Jane's creation

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  This week I am working with the beautiful digi 'Serenity' by Concetta Kilmer

To begin with my first personal challenge was to attach black hair.  I so often get this very wrong by trying to over blend using 5 grey colours plus black.  This time I decided to try something a little different - black, plus ice grey 5, 3, and 1 (Promarkers).  All the colouring was done in the greys and then I used the black with the fine nib to build up the black.
With that done, time to colour the rest of the digi.
Phew, - eyes need a rest now lol.  OK - better and coffee drunk so back to crafting.  I started on the card base where I plan to use black card, olive green paper and black lace for a rather sexy look hahahaha
Card put together now for the embellishing. I have mixed together gold and clear embossing powders, I don't want a solid gold but just a sprinkling.  This will be used on the butterfly which I cut with Spellbinders Les Pavilions 2.

Here is the butterfly - black for the base layer and the top layer coloured with olive green Promarker.  Both sections finished off with the gold and clear embossing powder mixture.
A few more bits and bobs needed, Stickles, peel off sentiment (not sure if I am using gold or colouring a silver one in greens yet), ribbon and of course a tag which I have been making as I go along with the other sections.
All done.  I finished off the inside of the card with cerise paper cut with Spellbinders Grand Labels 1and a rubber stamped butterfly which I painted with Stickles lol.
And here we have the finished card :)

Thank you for stopping by :)
