Conie Fong's Serenity

Here is a card featuring Conie Fong,s SERENITY that I made using the STAEDTLER Karat Soft pastels and the STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Water Color pencils. I colored the image with the Aquarell Pencils and made the background paper by stenciling a flower pattern onto it. I outlined a Prima flower with the Karat soft pastels and rubbed the pastel chalk off onto the paper and this is the effect I got!

Here is another photo in a different light! I love the dramatic look of this card and I am so in love with Sweet Pea Stamps!!! There is something for everyone and always a great sale or a deal! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the store for more great deals!

Enchantment

Nice of you to stop by the blog today. I have taken a little break in my Christmascards, or at least in the planning of my Christmascards, and played with this beautiful image by Meredith Dillman plate 98 (which is currently on sale, wohoo) Besides ching chou this is one of my favorite illustrators so I was happy to ink this image that I haven't played with before.

I'm so superpleased with how it turned out, especially the coloring. I used oilpencils and a rubbing medium. I've struggled long to get the glow in my images, so I was over the moon of finally succeeding.

The sentiment is from ching chou kuik's plate 38. It is stamped with distress ink as are the edges of the image. Papers are from prima.

Hope you got inspired by my card today and that you'll come back tomorrow for another project using sweetpea stamps.

Connie-Sexy Goth

I've been anxious to work with this gorgeous image by Sweet Pea Stamps
artist Teresa Sherman
from plate #177 titled
"Sexy Goth"
ever since I first got her.
Today is just cold enough outside to justify being indoors here
so I took full advantage of the weather!

Supplies:
SP image by Teresa Sherman plate 177
Nesties "Labels 14"
flourish die by Memory Box "Elegant Scrollwork"
flower die by Magnolia "Doohickeys"
small brads by Oriental Trading Co.
small hole punch-McGill
glue pen by Zig
corner rounder by Creative Memories
dp by DCWV "Mariposa"
Copic markers/airbrushing
white paint by Copic

**TIP:  when you need a thin border around a diecut and do not have
or want to buy another whole set just trace around the outside edge
of the die you are using and cut that out by hand, layering
beneath your diecut.  It makes a much cleaner edge than
using a bigger die (which gives a border too wide IMO)**

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to stop over at
and check out the fabulous SALE going on right now!!

A Trio of Cards To Share

I am lovely being on the Sweetpea DT and have been enjoying going through my Sweetpea collection of stamps. I love having so many lovely stamps and can chose the one that inspires me on that particular day.

For my first project I have used a fabulous stamp from Anna Marine called Trick Me Once or available as one of four stamps on Sheet 1, Plate 141.

I chose to kept to the green's and neutral's to reflect the IRISH theme of the stamp but I think she would look good any colour!

For my next project I used Rachel Anderson's Sunrise also available on stamp plate - sheet 2, plate 111

For this card I wanted to try to achieve a watercolour wash effect for the background. Have to admit I found it a lot harder than I thought to achieve. Sometimes the simple effects are the hardest to achieve. I used a blending pen to take out some of the colour giving a more subdued look.

My next project features Renee Biertempfel's Oceania and available on Sheet 1, Plate 144.Check out these stamps - she has created some wonderful backgrounds and I have been playing around with ways to achieve something similar - unfortunately can't find where I put them!

I have to say in this photo she does look as if she has a black eye but this I think is due to the fact you are only seeing a partial eye!

Hope you will enjoy your Sweetpea stamps as much as I do. New stamps are being released all the time so check out Sweetpea stamps and see what's available.

Further details of how these cards were made are available here

Best wishes,

Autumn Harvest

Here's a stunning ching chou kuik image called Autumn Harvest. I just love it. I colored her in rich fall colors of purple and blue and then found matching cardstock to go with it. I had a wonderful fall theme embellishment set with beautiful autumn leaves and pumpkin accents.
It also came with a paper-clip with the word "Fall" on it. I clipped it to the top of my colored image and added a highlight behind it. The shimmery papers all sparkle in the light. This stamp is called Autumn harvest and it is sold individually or on Plate #57. Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving this year. I bet you can all guess what my favorite thanksgiving item is (*hint it's shown in the stamp). Yep, it's pumpkin. Pumpkin ANYTHING--pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bagels, pumpkin muffins, ....ahhhh BRING IT ON!

Have a wonderful holiday! Cheers all, Holley

Joanne Schempp's Spanish Dabloon

I loved making this card! I got to use alot of glittery sparkley and shiney things... and those are all my favorites!I used distress inks to water color this and then I got out the viva decor pens for the hilights and accents! I really like the way this came out!

Here is a close up of the image! thanks so much for popping in and have a great day!

Beautiful Holly Fairy

Hello dear fellow Sweet Pea Stamps lovers. One of my most favourite image of Sweet Pea Stamps is definitely the beautiful 'Holly Fairy' by the amazing artist ching-chou kuik. She is such a pleasure to colour and perfect for any Christmas cards and projects. Remember, I used her on my candle as well. This time I made a card with her. You can find her on plate # 60 together with three other fabulous images and is available as a single stamp as well.

Here's a close-up of the image. I coloured it with Distress Inks.

A poinsetta as a decoration. The leafs and border are die cuts from Magnolia.

Your big chance to get the most beautiful Christmas and Thanksgiving images, including this Holly Fairy: all those stamps are on SALE right now. Your chance to rise up your collection.

Have a magical week!

Hello everyone!:)
I used the adorable from Sweet Pea Images by artist Meredith Dillmancalled Steampunk Doll ( Sheet #2/ Plate #87) and she comes with another gorgeous image, and you can find it HERE!
She was so fun to color with my Copics!:) I made this card  for a lady, who wants to give her husband a card for his birthday.
And I had a lot of fun making this card, using a lot of ¨Distress Stain, embossing powder, Distress ink, clear Rock Candy,  Tim Holtz dies..etc!:))
I love this image, and this is my first time, coloring her, but I'm gonna make many "steampunk card" with this one..and she's perfect for a "card to a man"!!:)

Elisabeth Bell Party Pose

Dreamy bookmark

As Christmas is approaching I've been thinking about quick and easy gifts to make as going away presents. I think a pretty bookmark is always appreciated, because who doesn't like to read once in a while at least? I often find bookmarks too bulky with flowers and decorations. They look very pretty, but are not very practical.

So for my project today I used Meredith Dillman's Peridot from plate 137. I coloured the image with copics (which I can't figure out, but I guess I need to practice more. My promarkers weren't cooperating with me in the beginning either). I used a die to cut out the pretty shapes, added a ribbon in between two pieces of cardstock and glued them together. The pink parts on this bookmark have beautiful dryembossed swirls that I accentuated with a glitterpen. I like when things look pretty from all sides.

I added a rhinestone on the hanging flower as I imagine it to be hanging out of the book. I also added glitter to parts of the image and around the biggest shape.

KAREN MIDDLETON'S ROSEMARY

Hi Sweetpea'ers
For todays post I'm sharing with you a card made using one of Karen Middletons stamps. This one is called ROSEMARY and is also available on a stamp plate of 4 stamps (sheet 17, Plate 184).

I love this stamp plate and like the softer colouring with these images - almost have a dreamy feel to them.
Stamps: Sweetpea's Karen Middleton - Rosemary

Anne

This lovely lass is Anne by Terra Bidlespacher and she is on plate #182 with three other cuties.

I just knew that as a bit of a pirate she needed to have a touch of red and that a background with script was appropriate.  Doesn't she just look like she is enjoying a bit of relaxation on the beach?  That sounds pretty wonderful to me right about now as well.

Season's greetings

Welcome to today's inspiration post. This week we are focusing on the images of Conie Fong. This one is called Buttercup and looks very much like a summer stamp, especially as it comes with a little butterfly hovering around the girl's head. I decided to cut the image out instead making it more Christmas like. Doesn't she look like she's waiting for Santa?

I coloured her with oilpencils and mounted the image on a red piece of cardstock to add the red border. I thought it made the image stand out and added interest to the card. Hope you are more ready for Christmas than I am. How did it get here so fast again?!
