Karen Middleton's Pumpkin Fairie

It will be here before you know it...and by it I mean Halloween!!!
What a darling image for Halloween cards...very festive!
I ADORE all of the Karen Middleton images... but this giggly little pumpkin Fairie is one of my faves.
I colored her with copic markers and sprayed some Smooch onto the image for some sparkle.
I punched out some leaves and pumpkins and added the sentiment with a rub on!
Here is a close up of this little darling.
Thanks so much for popping in and have a wonderful day!

It's all about Terra Bidlespacher's images

Today I have some cards to share with you using images by our artist Terra Bidlespacher.
For this first one I used Nadya and she can be found on Sheet#7, Plate #174.
Isn't she just too cute??

For this one I used "Storm Caster" and she can be found on Sheet #4, Plate #36.

On this one I used "Margo" and she can be found on Sheet #3, Plate #119.

This little cutie is "Slushie" and she can be found on Sheet #7, Plate #174.

For these next 2 it is just the images colored.  I will make them into cards later and show them to you when they are done.  I just wanted you to see how cute they were colored.

This one is "Halloween" and she can be found on sheet #5, Plate #155

This one is called "Circus" and she can be found one Sheet #3, Plate #119.

I really love Terra's images and have so much fun coloring them.  You can find all her images as singles or on sheet's HERE.

Check out my personal blog for a chance to win one of Terra's rubber stamp sheet's for yourself HERE.
Hugs:)

Connie-from the Gum Drop Gang Plate #15

So where are the Gum Drop Gang you ask?
Actually I only used the verse that comes with this plate #15 by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The abstract-looking flower image you see is where I put some pretty Marigolds
between my Cuttlebug plates C and B (no embossing folders used) on top
of a piece of white cardstock by Cryogen and ran it all through the
Cuttlebug.
I ended up with a splash (in more ways than one which I will tell you about next!)
of color in the shape of a flower.  I only used black Memento ink for the verse, no other ink was used.
I scraped off the petals after it had all dried and overstamped the verse.
I will dry the flowers a little first next time as they were so wet it literally
SPLASHED onto my embossing plates and had to be scrubbed off!

The Cryogen paper has a glimmer to it that really is lovely
against the splashy flower imprint I think.

What do you think??
Thanks for looking!

Peridot in Blue

Meredith Dillman has some wonderful images with all kinds of flowing robes. This image is called Peridot and was colored by Meredith Dillman in a beautiful green color. I wanted to try it out in blue.  Every one of the four images on Plate #137 is elegant and fun to color.

Ching-chou kuik's Plate #43

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Recently I received a sheet of gorgeous ching-chou Kuik stamps.
I have a soft spot for ching-chou kuik stamps because they were the first stamps I ever used.

This is one of the gorgeous  images on ching-chou kuik's sheet #14, plate #43.
Isn't she lovely.  I was inspired by the blue skies we are having and the gorgeous yellow daffodils growing in  our front garden.

Blue and yellow is such a gorgeous combination.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Hugs

Steampunk Fairy

Hi everyone. Hope you're doing fine and enjoy summer. When I saw this image I knew from the first sight I have to colour her in grey tones. A technique I wanted to do already a while, but didn't know what image I can use for this. I thought she is perfect for it.

This beautiful image is called 'Steampunk Fairy' and is from the new artist Teresa Sherman. She is available on plate #  168 together with three more amazing images. And she is available as a single stamp as well. I coloured her with Copics. I also tried out some stitching on my card.

I have another creation in progress with this black and white technique which I will share with you soon. So keep on visiting us.

Wish you a magical day!
Hugs, Karina

Tad Batty

Here's a totally awesome stamp from Sweet Pea artist Terra Bidlespacher called Tad Batty! She's just super cute. After the Halloween card that I made last week and all the new Halloween theme stamps I have been seeing (and ordered of course!!) I am already in the Halloween stamping mood! SUPER in the Halloween card mood. I pulled out this wonderful stamp and had to make a card. This stamp comes on Plate #155 with other Halloween theme items and even includes the wonderful saying I used on this card!

I also used some nice printed and glittery paper as well as some of the beautiful lace that I got while in Turkey. There's some fun brads, some Prima flowers and a little bling. All the great things that a card needs.

Right now this cute stamp is on sale, so check it out on the Sweet Pea website.

Cheers all! Holley

A Fairy In the Garden

Joanne Schempp's Daisy Fairy reminded me of when I was young and would look for fairies in our garden.
I never could find those elusive little fairies, but I always believed they were there.
Now my little girls go out into the garden and look for these magical beings. Don't you just love the innocence of youth.

So with fairies in mind, I was inspired to make this card.

I cut some leaves using my Spellbinders Foliage dies to blend in with the image and give this fairy her own little garden.
This card will be going to my daughter, so she will always have her own fairy in a garden.

If you would like to create your own little piece of magic, Joanne Schempp's Daisy Fairy can be purchased on its own or on Sheet #1, Plate #130.
Thank you for joining me today.
Hugs

Karen Middleton' s Snowbird

I am from Buffalo... AKA the land of snow. I have never looked as darling or as happy in the snow!
But this little gal looks like my children do now when it snows because it doea not happen in the south that much. And now when it snows,I don't mind because it melts in a day!
Now... I must admit, I really LOVED coloring her because it was like 98 degrees... so I would have enjoyed a brief blizzard... but  this little gal was cool...in more ways than one!
thanks for poppin' in and have a wonderful day!

Mermaid Nostalgia

Hi Everyone,

I decided to get a bit nostalgic and pulled out Plate #1 to color up one of the very first Sweet Pea Stamps mermaids. I know some might consider the mermaid a bit risque.

I certainly don't, however, I had some distress inked seam binding left over and decided add it.

All coloring was done with Copics, after I die cut the image, I used Distress Inks to darken the edges. The paper is Pool Water from Paper Pizazz and the gemstones are from Martha Stewart.

I left the card simple because I thought too many embellishments would take away from the image... ok, actually I was running behind and I was pleased with the way this oldie but goodie mermaid turned out :-).

Lots of new releases are at the Sweet Pea Stamps store, but don't forget to check out some of the older plates..... they are just as gorgeous, sassy and fun to color as all the other awesome stamps.

One more look at the finished card:

Sweet Pea Classics Part II

Hi everyone and welcome to my second part of the Sweet Pea Classics. Hope you enjoyed the first part. Today I want to show you two more cards I made with two of my all time favourite images. Both of them are from the amazing artist ching-chou kuik who's whole collection you can find HERE.

The first card is made with 'Purple Woods'. I coloured this beautiful image with my Distress Inks on heavy 300 gram watercolour papers. The designer papers I used are some left overs from other cards. I want to use them as well as they are too nice to be left in the drawer.

The second card is made with 'Red Hearts'. I coloured this fabulous image with my Distress Inks as well on heavy aquarell paper. I decided to colour the hearts yellow this time. The papers are left overs as well.

Well, I think there are quite some more fabulous images who could be called Classics. And perhaps I will continue this series later. So keep on visiting us here so you won't miss it.

Have a magical day!
Hugs, Karina

Connie-"Divine" Goddess

What do you get when you have a chance to play with a gorgeous plate full of those beautiful ching-chou kuik stamps and a new embossing folder?
An awful lot of fun!!
Here is what came of my Sweet Pea session today:

It is rather simple by comparison to some of the Sweet Pea DT's
creations, but since I am the Queen of Simple, I like it.

I embossed the yellow panel with a Sizzix embossing folder and swiped with orange ink.
Then stamped, colored and cut out most of an image by
ching-chou kuik titled "Divine" and popped her up with a thin yellow ribbon
from my scraps tied as a sash.
About as simple as it gets?

You can see what the entire image looked like before
I hacked it apart by checking out

Supplies used:
"Divine" image by ching-chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps plate #162
Sizzix embossing folder "Rays"
Cuttlebug machine
Marvy inkpad "#7 Orange"
Copic markers
Pop Dots
Craft Essentials Metallic Dot
small hole punch to thread ribbon thru

Thanks for stopping by!
